About Me

My name's Sam, I'm 45 years old and was born and have lived in Suffolk all my life. My part time job as well as my two daughters keep me busy, when I do get any free time as well as reading I also enjoy walking in the Suffolk countryside and along the coast, listening to music and watching films and football, I'm a big Ipswich Town fan.

My favourite authors include Stephen King and Anne Tyler and favourite genres are post apocalyptic, psychological crime and at the moment I have a big thing for Southern American fiction.

Please note that at the moment I'm not taking part in any blog tours.

  1. Hi Sam,
I am writing to ask if you would review my e-novel: ‘Nightmares and Other Therapy’, published by Damnation Books. Laura the main female character is seventeen, her boyfriend Michael is twenty. This book is set in England in the early sixties. There are no supernatural elements. I can provide an excerpt if that would be useful. If this book does not fit within your current review parameters, please don’t feel obliged to respond.

Blurb: Michael couldn’t understand the nightmares that made him violent on waking, mostly because he didn’t have the confidence to think his problem through. Eventually, pressured into entering a mental hospital by his employers he thought that here he would find answers and a way to a better life. He was never more wrong.

Comments that appeared from time to time on the Authonomy site about three chapters of this story:
You’ve created a good main character in Michael; he’s likable and sympathetic and the kind of character a reader wants to follow…..I found this book very compelling and feeling for Michael. He is such a character many readers could sympathize with…. What a moving portrayal of a man’s life…. Having got to the end of chapter three I am pretty upset and worried for him. This surely shows how good this is. His character has drawn me in….. I really like the style and the characters, and there's great sympathy when needed….Do finish this, please!…What a moving story. Poor Michael, I just want to give him a hug. I want this to work out right for him. Please post more, I need to know how it turns out….

  2. Just found you via Booketta Jane.
I am just down the road from u in Suffolk :)
We share one genre of fiction as a preference....Southern American fiction.
Have u read Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman?

    1. Hi Carol

I have read Saving CeeCee Honeycutt and Beth Hoffman's latest book Looking For Me, I loved them both :)

  3. My latest novel, Valerie's Retreat, is now available from Amazon on Kindle, and I would like to invite you (if you love romantic thrillers) to read and review this novel. Here is a blurb:

Valerie, a 40-ish Head Teller at a bank, has met Franco, 16 years younger and studying for a doctorate in archaeology. He is stunned yet eager to begin a relationship with this attractive "cougar", and they become lovers. Their lives begin to unravel when Valerie's female bisexual boss makes advances (and threats) toward Valerie and Franco is accused of the theft of an Incan artifact from a museum where he has been working part-time. Frustrated, under surveillance by the FBI, and seeing no way out of their dilemma, they decide to steal money from Valerie's bank and flee the country. They go to Peru to start a new life, but they find there the same type of corruption and threats. How can they escape their nightmares and make their dreams come true?

If you are interested in reading and reviewing this novel, please email me at rinald47@hotmail.com for a free copy. Don't forget to tell me what format you prefer (.mobi, .pdf, or .doc). I would also be very interested in an author interview and/or giveaway. Thanks!

  4. Hello Sam,

My name is Anna Poulimas and I am the PR Coordinator for Beacon Publishing Group. I noticed you were a fan of football and would like the opportunity to share Marques Ogden’s exciting new book “Sleepless Nights- The NFL: A Business and Family” with you for review consideration. For your convenience, please find the synopsis below. I would be happy to send you a PDF file of the book upon your request and get your feedback as a football fan. The book is available now in paperback and audible. It can be found on his website, Amazon.com, and other major online retailers.
For more information please visit http://marquesogden.com/author.

Growing up in a single parent home with a father that inspired perseverance and fairness, Marques Ogden learned how to define his values and set goals. Ogden attended Howard University from 1998-2002, where he played Division I football. He followed his dream and his brother Jonathan's footsteps, eventually getting drafted into the NFL in 2003. Overall, he played for 5 years as an offensive lineman with the Titans, Bills, Ravens and Jaguars. Even during the off season, Ogden helped train football players in Europe, both physically and mentally. At the age of 27, he founded a construction company called Kayden Premier Enterprises, a business that grew rapidly in its first few years, but Ogden and the business eventually went bankrupt, after Ogden loss almost 2 million dollars on one project in a time period just under 90 days. At his darkest point, the NFL came in and helped Ogden restructure his life. With hard work and determination, he became a motivational speaker and marketing leader, helping to build others up to succeed. Through it all, Ogden dealt with his own personal demons of drinking and gambling to make it regardless of obstacles that were in his path!

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response!

    Best regards,

    Anna Poulimas
